Precision Castings

Lost vax investment casting process offers a wider range of performances and ease when it comes to produce both complex and challenging shapes. You’ll get a precise mechanical part, in perfect accordance with the original drawing and per table ISO 8062.

Process

The process begins with a wax replica of the chosen final design, which is bathed in six layers of ceramic coatings, than dried and cooked.
What is achieved is a mould, that can be injected with any liquid metal required. Our foundries ensure the complete process: the cooling phase; shell-breaking and trimming; sanding, polishing, machining plus dimensional inspection.

THROUGH HOLES (mm) BLIND HOLES (mm)

4 ÷ 6 Ø x 2 Ø x 1
6 ÷ 10 Ø x 3 Ø x 1.6
> 10 Ø x 4 Ø x 2

In a logic of cost containment we recommend avoiding the adoption of restricted tolerances.

In the table above, the following accuracy classes are indicated:

  • CT 6 for all free quotas where no indication is needed;
  • CT 5 for all functional dimensions where a defined tolerance is required;
  • CT 4 only for quotas where it requires a higher degree of precision and in any case to be agreed with Tamau Italia.

The roughness is defined in the order and is between RA 2.4 and 4.8.

Tamau helps the customer in design development. We ensure the feasibility of the project suggesting engeneering amendments suitable for the foundry mass production. Read the tips for a correct design.

We provide prototypes few days after the drawings are approved.
This way our customer can test and even modify the mould while in process. See See how it works
